About usDoose Gathering New Jersey

This site was created with the wealth of knowledge and experience of parents from all over the world who have searched desperately for ways to free their children from the uncontrolled seizures that characterize Myoclonic-Astatic Epilepsy in Childhood (MAE). The information is also based on the limited amount of medical research that is available about this syndrome.

A large part of the information on this site comes from an online support group for parents of children with MAE. It began three years ago with two MAE parents who found each other through a Ketogenic Diet support group online. From there, several more parents joined them and began exchanging information and stories via e-mail about their children with MAE. This led to the creation of a forum on Yahoo Groups designed for parents and family members of children with MAE. The list is growing every day, with now over 200 members from around the world, who provide support and information to one another on a daily basis. The members of this group wanted to share their knowledge, their experiences, and their support with other families, as well as with educators, specialists, and epilepsy foundations striving to learn more about this epilepsy syndrome.

Our goal is to establish a site to provide the support, encouragement and assistance you need to help your child or your patient with MAE. We hope our stories and experiences will give you help, hope, and answers.

Most of all, we welcome you to our family and invite you to share your story with us!
